OTTO WERKS EDITION x MEYERS MANX

OTTO Werks

Known for our Porsche expertise, we’ve briefly turned our attention to one of the most iconic dune buggies of all time—the Meyers Manx. OTTO WERKS has now reinterpreted the Manx in a way that blends California beach culture with German engineering and motorsport technology.

The OTTO WERKS Edition Meyers Manx project centers on three core elements. At its heart is a 2.2 Liter Willhoit racing-based engine, delivering 170 horsepower and 160 lb-ft of torque—nearly triple the power of the original 356 motor while staying true to Porsche DNA. Inside, we’ve fitted lightweight Speedster seats and classic Porsche gauges, anchoring the project in the ethos of early 356s. Underpinning it all is a motorsport-grade mil-spec wiring harness, developed fully in-house by OTTO WERKS’ loom specialist. Built with MoTeC and Cosworth components, the system eliminates traditional fuses and relays, relying instead on a modern PDM (power distribution module) for absolute reliability.

True to OTTO WERKS’ ethos, the build is filled with subtle Porsche details - beehive tail lamps, square-weave carpet, and period-correct Marchal fog lights - while still expressing the playful spirit of the original Manx.

OTTO WERKS is building five “WERKS Edition” Manx buggies, each capturing the same blend of Porsche motorsport engineering and Meyers Manx freedom.
